About Kathrin Berg

Kathrin Berg Kathrin founded Kathrin Speaks Enterprises in 2010 providing professional Voice-Over Narration for TV documentaries and programs, commercials, web-based industrial videos and a variety of other projects. She specializes in Media Spokesperson Training, Personal Presentation Skills Training, How to Speak to Your Legislator, and other custom professional advice.

Going on 16 years, Kathrin continues as the host and co-producer of The El Paso Physician, a live, one-hour, call-in television program in which a variety of medical topics are discussed with physicians specializing in various fields of expertise. The program has won several awards and airs monthly on El Paso’s PBS station, KCOS-TV. The El Paso County Medical Society sponsors the program.

Kathrin is also currently the Director of Donor Relations at the El Paso Community Foundation. She believes in improving our great city one step at a time by working on projects that affect the greater good. She loved spearheading the Al Pacino – One Night Only event and promoting the Plaza Classic Film Festival on an international level.

Kathrin was the Executive Director of El Paso Pro-Musica from 2004-2011. Prior to that she was the Director of Communications and Government Relations for the American Cancer Society, a position she held for more than 12 years. Kathrin worked at KVIA-TV (an ABC affiliate) where she learned many “tricks of the trade” that she uses to this day. In addition, she was the Media Buyer for Laster and Miller Advertising. During these full time jobs, Kathrin also held a part time position for 11 years as “Kathie Berg” at FOX-92 radio from 1986-1997, where she served as News Director and Public Service Announcement Director.

Working with the American Cancer Society, Kathrin was instrumental in the development and passage of the El Paso Smoke-Free Ordinance of 2001. Many large cities such as New York and Boston have modeled their smoke-free ordinance after the El Paso ordinance, which at the time, was the strongest of its kind in cities with a population over 500,000. She continues to provide trainings for legislative advocates around the country. Kathrin is a registered lobbyist and works on various health issues, on the state and federal level.

Kathrin is the past president of Public Relations Society of America. She has held Vice President positions for The Executive Forum and Downtown Rotary Club of El Paso. Kathrin is a recipient of the 2010 El Paso Inc. - Women of Impact Award and the 2009 YWCA's Reach Award. She was an advocate in the restoration of the Plaza Theatre and is an original board member of the Plaza Star Keepers Guild.

Originally from Germany, Kathrin enjoys living in America’s Southwest. She takes her husband William and children Anika and Landon back to Germany every few years to visit family. She thinks it is very important to hold on to her language and heritage and teach her children about their roots. Kathrin speaks both languages fluently.
